Prof.Özlem Can Gürkan

PROFESSOR ÖZLEM CAN GÜRKAN

Özlem CAN GÜRKAN, who completed her middle and high school education in Kocaeli, graduated from Florence Nightingale School of Nursing in 1995. She completed her Master’s Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing at Marmara University Institute of Health Sciences in 1999 and her Doctorate Program in 2005. She received the title of Associate Professor in 2020 and Professor in 2026.

Can Gürkan began her professional life at the German Hospital in 1995 and started working as a research assistant at the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, Marmara University in 1999. Since 2005, Can Gürkan has been conducting research in the fields of gender studies, domestic violence, and violence against women. She has numerous national and international publications, national and international presentations, book chapters, and project leadership and participation in her field.

Can Gürkan, who is also a member of the board of directors of Marmara University Health and Research Foundation, is married and has one daughter.
